Everything you need to know about TIPFIN loans β€” application, approval, documents, fees, and payout.

πŸ“ Application
How do I apply for a loan?+

Visit our online application page at apply.html and fill in the form. You will need to choose your loan type, amount, term, and upload the required documents. The entire process takes approximately 5–10 minutes.

What documents do I need to apply?+

Required documents depend on your loan type, but generally include:

  • Valid South African ID or passport
  • Latest 3 months' payslips or proof of income
  • Latest 3 months' bank statements
  • Proof of residence (not older than 3 months)
  • Proof of business registration (for business loans)
Can I apply on my mobile phone?+

Yes! Our platform is fully mobile-optimised. You can complete your entire application, upload documents and track your status directly from your smartphone. Our TIPFIN app is also available for download on Android and iOS.

Is there a fee to apply?+

No. Submitting an application through TIPFIN is completely free of charge. You will never be asked to pay anything before receiving your approved funds.

Can I apply in a different currency?+

TIPFIN supports multiple currencies including ZAR, USD, EUR, GBP, NGN, KES, GHS, TZS, UGX, ZMW, MWK, RWF, BIF, SSP, MZN, AOA, CDF, MGA, KMF, DJF, XAF, XOF, MVR and SZL. Select your preferred currency during the application process.

⚑ Approval
How long does approval take?+

Most first-time applicants receive an approval decision within 30 minutes during business hours. If you have applied within the past 30 days and provided valid documents, your application may be pre-approved even faster.

What happens if my application is declined?+

If your application is declined, we will notify you with a reason. You are welcome to reapply after 30 days or contact us via WhatsApp for guidance on improving your application. Common reasons for decline include insufficient income documentation or incomplete uploads.

Will a credit check affect my score?+

Our initial application review is a soft inquiry and does not affect your credit score. A formal credit check may be required for final loan approval, which may appear as an inquiry on your credit record.

What if I was approved before β€” do I need to reapply?+

If you have been approved within the last 30 days, you do not need to reapply. Contact us on WhatsApp at +27 786 216 617 and we can assist with completing your payout directly.

We accept PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, and HEIC file formats. Files must be clearly legible and no larger than 10MB each. You can take photos of documents directly with your smartphone.

Are my uploaded documents secure?+

Yes. All uploaded documents are encrypted using 256-bit SSL during transfer and stored in a secure, POPIA-compliant cloud environment. Only authorised TIPFIN staff can access your documents for the purpose of processing your application.
